The Competitive analysis is a statement of business strategy and how it relates to the competition.  The purpose of the Competitive analysis is to determine the strengths and weakness of the competitors within your market, strategies that will provide you with a distinct advantage, the barriers that can be developed in order to prevent competition from entering your market,  and any weaknesses that can be exploited within the product development cycle.

The internet is an extremely competitive market place, and there are always other companies targeting your keywords and potential customers.

Understanding the competition

Identifying your real competition is the first step in the analysis process. There is a difference between your search competitors and product competitors, and this is important to understand as you start climbing the rankings. Once we know exactly who stands between us and the top of the search engines, we will discover what they are doing that has worked, and identify all the things we can do better.
